IE Hosts 2008 NC HIMSS Conference

IE recently participated in the 2008 NC HIMSS Spring Conference in Charlotte, NC at the Ballantyne Resort on June 5-6.
NC HIMSS is a local chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and conducts yearly conferences that update members, vendors and attendees on the latest trends in NC Healthcare technology.
Keynote Speaker, Greg Wood, President and CEO of Scotland Healthcare System in Lauringburg NC spoke about the challenges and opportunities of rural healthcare systems and how they affect funding for Advance Technologies that could positively impact the rural community. In addition, Jim Bindon, Global Segment Manager for Healthcare, US, Canada, and LATAM, shared information about application integration and reducing the number of information silos to enable more efficient patient care across the enterprise. Finishing the conference with a well received session presented by L. Albert Villarin, Jr. MD FACED who enlightened us about patient tracking, workflow and facilities improvement enabled by real time location technologies through RFID.
In addition to being a Platinum Sponsor, IE was entrusted with the entire coordination of the multi-activity event which gave great exposure and provided many networking opportunities for all of the participants. Charlotte, NC (April 22, 2008) Internetwork Engineering (IE) announced today that it is the recipient of a Cisco Partner Summit regional award for Enterprise Partner of the Year. Cisco unveiled the winners April 9, 2008 at its Partner Summit in Honolulu.
"I had the honor and privilege of recognizing Internetwork Engineering as a Cisco Partner Summit regional award winner," said Wendy Bahr, vice president of US and Canada channels at Cisco. "The Enterprise Partner of the Year Award recognizes IE's performance and success as a Cisco channel partner in the South Region in 2007."
Cisco Partner Summit awards are presented at three levels--regional, theater and global. Cisco Partner Summit U.S. and Canada regional awards reflect a partner's performance in a given geographic region of the United States or Canada. The South Region includes TX, OK, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, GA, FL, SC, and NC.

IE is the first company to receive Cisco certification as an Authorized Technology Partner for Outdoor Wireless MESH (ATP v2). Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking, uses its ATP designation to recognize demonstrated leaders in emerging technologies. Outdoor Wireless MESH is a new technology solution addressing emerging markets including municipal Wi-Fi and government and private sector campus applications.
To earn ATP status IE met rigorous expertise requirements for planning, designing, implementing, supporting and optimizing outdoor wireless networks. IE demonstrated successful deployments of the technology as well as ongoing ability to provide outdoor wireless operation and support services. Combined with the strong business model written by Wireless Practice Manager Dennis Holmes, showing a sound financial argument for these outdoor networks, the MESH ATP v2 will allow IE to further aid government agencies, campus environments, and private sector clients to invest in the infrastructure required to field the latest in solutions such as Automated Meter Reading, EMS, Police, VoIP over Wireless, Video Surveillance, Gunshot location services, economic development, and internet access solutions.
